Eva's Place/Sanilac Area Violence Elimination Council
The Eva's Place Shelter provides emergency shelter for women and children affected by Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, or Homelessness. Eva's Place provides emergency for up to 30 days, Counseling and Support Groups, Legal and Medical Advocacy, Education, and Information, Referral and Planning for the family's future housing and employment needs. All services are free of charge and available to clients that are residents as well as those who are not. Eva's Place is open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Sanilac County Child Abuse Prevention Council
The mission of the Sanilac County Child Abuse Prevention Council is to promote the safe and healthy development of children and families through community education and enrichment. The Council provides a number of prevention programs to families and school districts. Programs include the Baby Pantry, Bubbylonian Encounter, and Stephen Thompson. The Council is a volunteer organization that also provides "How to Report Child Abuse and Neglect" training sessions for any group that works with children and teens.
